An engineer by training, Ajai Chowdhry is one of the six founder members of HCL and took over the reins of HCL Infosystems, the flagship
company of the group, as President and CEO in 1994. He was appointed the
Chairman of HCL Infosystems in November 1999. In recognition of his contribution
in championing the cause of the domestic Indian IT industry, Ajai has been
conferred the DATAQUEST ‘IT Man of the Year 2007’ Award amongst other awards.
